Workshop: By Dan Csontos: How to publish in top ranked scientific journals

40 participants at Dr. Dan Csontos’ Workshop, PhD-students, and PhDs, all enthusiastic. Good discussions on how to get your paper through the editor’s gate with elegantly formulated cover letters. If that does not work – appeal if necessary. Moreover we discussed how to write informative titles, smart abstracts, and well structured papers and obtain the “flow” in the paper.  As well as strategies for getting out mostly of the research and publish with high impacts and finally to get your paper understood by the reader.

Three accepted project proposals to Vinnova’s call Utmaningsdriven innovation

Health Informatics, Information Systems, Knowledge and Communication, New Project, SYSLAB

Researchers at the Information systems unit submitted six research proposals to Vinnova’s “Utmaningsdriven innnovation” and got three project proposals accepted. This is a 50 percent acceptance rate, the average acceptance rate was 16 percent on this call.

The accepted projects were:
Öppna sociala molntjänster (Open Social Cloud Services) by Gustaf Juell-Skielse and Petia Wohed.

Individanpassad paketering av IT-baserade hälso- och sjukvårdstjänster (Citizen Centric Packaging of eHealth Solutions) by prof. Anne Persson at University of Skövde with Paul Johannesson and Janis Stirna as co-applicants. Both projects are within the application area IT for Health.

Within Human Language Technology we got:
Automatiserat ärendestöd med språkintelligens (Increasing automation of request management for public authorities by language technology) by Eriks Sneiders  and co-applicants Tessy Cerratto-Pargman and Ola Knutsson

Bio: Elsa Vaara is an industrial designer with an MA degree in interaction design from Umeå insitute of design. She has been working at the Mobile Life centre since 2008 and is now researching as a Ph.D student with Kristina Höök as main tutor.
