A number of five papers written by the members of IT management group have been accepted for publication in the proceedings of top conferences in information systems area (AMCIS 2014, HICSS-47, PACIS 2014 and CAiSE 2014).

A paper written by Parisa Aasi, Lazar Rusu and Shengnan Han (Stockholm University, Sweden), entitled: “The Influence of Culture on IT Governance: A Literature Review“ has been accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the 47th Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS-47), January 6-9, 2014, Hilton Waikoloa, Big Island, Hawaii, USA

A paper written by Mohamed El Mekawy, Lazar Rusu and Erik Perjons and entitled: “The Impact of Business-IT Alignment on Organizational Culture “ has been accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the 18th Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS 2014), June 24-28, 2014, Chengdu, China.

A paper written by Jens Ohlsson, Shengnan Han, Paul Johannesson and Lazar Rusu and entitled: “Developing a Method for Prioritizing Business Process Improvement Initiatives“ has been accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the 18th Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS 2014), June 24-28, 2014, Chengdu, China.

A paper written by Jens Ohlsson, Shengnan Han, Paul Johannesson, Fredrik Carpenhall and Lazar Rusu and entitled: “Prioritizing Business Processes Improvement Initiatives: The Seco Tools Case“ has been accepted for publication in the Proceedings of the 26th International Conference on Advanced Information Systems Engineering (CAiSE 2014), 16-20 June 2014, Thessaloniki, Greece.

The IJITBAG (http://www.igi-global.com/journal/international-journal-business-alignment-governance/1136) is a journal that publishes leading research that focuses on IT management and IT governance issues. 

A paper written by Godfried B. Adaba (Birkbeck College, University of London) and Lazar Rusu (Stockholm University, Sweden) entitled: “E-trade Facilitation in Ghana: A Capability Approach Perspective “ has been accepted for publication in The Electronic Journal of Information Systems in Developing Countries (EJIDSC), City University of Hong Kong.  The EJIDSC  (https://www.ejisdc.org/ojs2/index.php/ejisdc) is a top journal in ICT4D research area that focuses on information systems in developing countries.

Ph.D. Funding from Swedish Research School of Management and Information Technology (MIT)

This year I have submitted an application to Swedish Research School of Management and Information Technology (MIT) for requesting funds for a Ph.D. student at DSV/Stockholm University that is performing research in IT Management with a focus on IT Governance. The application has been successfully, and in the next five years we will receive 1500000 SEK from MIT for financing together with our department the Ph.D. position at DSV of Parisa Aasi. Open Seminar with Dr. Radu Mihalache on Strategic Sourcing

On April 4, 2013 at DSV, Dr. Radu Mihalache from VU University Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada has given a seminar regarding Strategic Sourcing. The seminar was organized by the Center for Service Science and Innovation and IT Management group at DSV and is available on http://play.dsv.su.se.

Speaker:

Dr. Radu Mihalache is Assistant Professor at VU University Amsterdam, The Netherlands and Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada. He has received his doctoral degree from Erasmus University in 2012. The topic of his doctoral dissertation was concerning “Stimulating Innovation: The Roles of Offshoring and Leadership”. The finds of his research shows that firms’ innovation can be greatly increased through offshoring of services, but too much can cause harm. He also shows how leadership and sourcing of resources can hamper or enhance innovation competitiveness. Dr. Mihalache’s research work has been published in Strategic Management Journal and presented at international conferences such as Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, and Academy of International Business.

Mohamed El-Mekawy’s Licentiate Seminar
